Purpose over decoration
Every design decision should serve the user. I remove what's unnecessary and keep what earns its place. If it doesn't help the user, it doesn't belong.
A developer, designer, and lifelong learner building purposeful digital experiences from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
My name is Md Umaer Islam. I'm a Bangladeshi developer and designer who grew up fascinated by how things look and how they work — two obsessions that eventually converged into a career building things on the internet.
I started my journey with Graphic Design — learning Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, creating logos, social media graphics, and brand identities. That visual intuition for composition, color, and space still shapes every product I build.
From design, I moved into Video Editing with Premiere Pro and After Effects — creating motion graphics and producing short-form content. Then came the web. I taught myself HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and later PHP and MySQL — building real projects that shipped to real users.
Today, I'm actively expanding into the modern stack — React, TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js — and I use AI tools daily to research faster, debug smarter, and ship with greater confidence. I don't call myself an AI expert. I call myself an Professional Developer — someone who uses AI as a superpower, not a shortcut.
Everything I build is guided by two principles: clarity and craft.
Every design decision should serve the user. I remove what's unnecessary and keep what earns its place. If it doesn't help the user, it doesn't belong.
A slow website is a broken website. Load times, core web vitals, and the experience under the hood — all of it matters.
The web should work for everyone. Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and keyboard navigation aren't optional — they're required.
The gap between good and great lives in the details most people never notice — but always feel.
Every project, every article, every tool I learn makes me a better builder.
The best work happens when we listen, discuss, and build together. I bring ideas and stay open to better ones.
Actively expanding into the modern full-stack ecosystem — React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript — while integrating AI tools into daily development workflow. Building personal projects and freelance work.
Built multiple web projects including e-commerce storefronts, business landing pages, and dynamic PHP-powered applications. Focused heavily on responsive design, clean code, and performance.
Created brand identities, logos, social media graphics, and video content for clients across Bangladesh. Mastered Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
Self-taught Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Began creating digital artwork, social media graphics, and experimenting with visual design principles.
My goal is to become a well-rounded full-stack developer who can take a product idea from concept to deployed reality — with strong frontend, solid backend, and clear design thinking.
I'm specifically working toward building production-ready React and Next.js applications, understanding databases at depth, and creating open-source tools that other developers find genuinely useful.
Long term: I want to work on products that have real impact — whether that's through a company, a startup of my own, or tools that help people in Bangladesh and beyond.
